about

I also call this the Frozen Shoulder song. I wrote it when I had a frozen shoulder so could hardly play, envisioning the day when my arm would be free again. Also an attempt to free the emotional pain that can get trapped in the body.

lyrics

Letting go
Of the fear and the pain
Pulling up by the roots
the grief and the rage
Feelin’ it move
Feelin’ it change
I dance in the golden light
Like a child again

Letting go
Of the stories and blame
Destroying the walls
Of doubt and shame
Feelin’ it move
Feelin’ it change
I dance in the golden light
Like a child again

Walking by myself
With you so nearby
Sometimes we touch

Stones beneath our soles
Looking overhead
Grapes on the vine

Letting go
To the love and the light
Listening to the secrets of the night
Feelin’ it move
Feelin’ it change
I dance in the golden light
Like a child again

about

Elizabeth Hummel Olympia, Washington

I pray that my songs help people through darkness as well as celebrate the light. This music is a village and I am not alone. I am deeply grateful to the many people who have helped me birth these songs in so many ways. You are the Love! ... more
